A modern way of learning
In rural areas of Liberia, access to education is severely limited – textbooks and internet access are often missing. With its partner organisation IEL, MAF reaches remote areas to make education possible there.
The partner organisation “Innovative Education Liberia (IEL)” provides pupils with a way to learn through battery-powered, self-contained computer rooms. The laptops come loaded with video courses, Wikipedia, e-books and many other resources, and make a modern form of learning possible.

Only six countries worldwide have a lower primary school completion rate than Liberia. It is precisely in rural schools, where there are often neither textbooks nor internet access, that these computers help children and young people gain the knowledge they need to complete their schooling, find work or go on to secondary education.
MAF supports IEL by transporting the containers holding the laptops for the computer rooms, as well as staff, between Monrovia and Greenville. The partnership helps to improve educational opportunities in Liberia’s remote regions considerably, and to give children and young people a better future and better prospects.
