What we are working towards

Our commitment

A world in which no one is cut off any longer, because Christian compassion reaches even where roads end or become impassable. We want to touch people, change their lives for the better and enable them to fulfil their potential.

The air as a link to the world

Where roads end, our mission begins

When roads stop because of geographical barriers, environmental conditions or political unrest, hope often stops too. To prevent that, we have made it our mission to use our small aircraft to reach people who would otherwise remain unreachable, and so bring help to those who need it most.

Our motivation

Compassion that moves

Motivated by our Christian faith, we work for the people the world seems to have forgotten: for them we overcome every obstacle and connect them with the world. We follow a faith-based programme approach that takes the spiritual needs of individuals and communities seriously. And in doing so we act according to humanitarian standards and a Human Rights-Based Approach (HRBA).

Our contribution to sustainable development

Sustainable Development Goals

The United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) follow the principle of leaving no one behind. That is exactly where we make a major contribution: we connect remote regions and so create access to help, supplies and development. Here are a few examples of how reliable air links make lasting change possible.

SDG 1: No poverty

Those cut off from the world have no access to markets or economic opportunities. MAF creates those links and opens doors to sustainable development.

SDG 2: Zero hunger

Where roads are missing, food is often missing too. MAF transports seed, equipment and specialists so that communities can feed themselves in the long term.

SDG 3: Good health and well-being

A treatable illness can be fatal in a remote region. MAF flies medical staff and medicines to where they are needed.

SDG 4: Quality education

Education changes lives, but only if it can be reached. MAF brings teachers and education specialists to regions that would otherwise be unreachable.

SDG 7: Affordable and clean energy

No energy, no development. MAF transports solar technology to remote regions and so lays the groundwork for sustainable growth.

SDG 9: Industry, innovation and infrastructure

Thanks to our airstrips and reliable air bridges, we create access to regions with weak infrastructure too.

SDG 10: Reduced inequalities

Geographical isolation is one of the most invisible forms of inequality. MAF bridges that gap, flight by flight.

SDG 17: Partnerships

Our flights reliably deliver specialists and relief supplies from partner organisations to places that would otherwise be hard to reach.
